Logic makes people think, but emotion makes people act.
If you want to get people to do something you have to get them to feel something first.
Emotions like joy, interest, elevation, gratitude, contentment, and love inspire action. Joy makes people want to play. Interest sparks the urge to explore. Love increases social bonds. Elevation makes people inclined to behave morally and do good for others.
These emotions are associated with expanded mindsets that make people more creative and even better able to cope with the ups and downs of life.
In contrast, negative emotions are associated with narrow mindsets that spark the flight or flight response.
If you want to draw people toward your organization and get them to buy from you, donate, or otherwise support you, positive emotions are essential.
